Publicado: 2020.09.08. WGC: World Gold Reserves June-July 2020
The updated WGC data contains official information from different countries of the world on their gold reserves as of June-July 2020. However, according to analysts, the data presented contain some errors compared to previous reviews.
India's gold reserves increased over the reporting period by 6.5 tons and now amounts to 664.2 tons.Turkish gold reserves increased by 19.7 tons and are currently 602.7 tons. Qatar has increased its gold reserves by 6.2 tons up to 48.4 tons
The survey says that Cambodia owns 36.5 tons, although in the previous month its gold reserves were 12.4 tons. It is unlikely that this poor country could buy 24.1 tons of the yellow precious metal in such a short time. Most likely, we are talking about a typo, since countries with similar economies do not have any changes in their reserves. Hence the conclusion: one should study the data from the WGC with great care and attention, as in the past there have already been errors in some statistical data.
Another mistake seems to have crept into the Australian gold reserves. In the previous survey, 60.7 tons were reported, and now we are talking about 79.6 tons. Inconsistencies with the gold reserve of Australia occurred earlier in previous surveys. The fact is that the Central Bank of Australia is pursuing an active gold leasing policy. Its official website reports about 80 tons of precious metal in reserves.
According to the WGC, Uzbekistan sold 12.2 tons of yellow precious metal for the reporting period. Now its gold reserves are 330.6 tons. Mongolia also sold part of its reserves, which decreased by 6.1 tons and currently amount to 11.6 tons.
